Forum Rules - Hardware Master
This forum is an open space intended for the exchange of viewpoints, experiences, and opinions, mainly about computing but not exclusively. By registering and posting on this forum, you agree to its terms of use and the authority of the moderators. The views expressed are solely your own and do not reflect the opinions of Hardware Master.
Access and Registration Terms
To participate in discussions, you must register. Registration involves choosing a username and providing a valid email address. After your registration is approved by an administrator, you will receive a password sent to your email. Hardware Master reserves the right to deny a registration based on a username that is against French law, good morals, or basic rules of courtesy. Registration may also be denied if the person is attempting to re-register after being banned from the forum under a previous username.
Collected Data
In addition to the data collected during registration (e.g., your email address), the forum stores the IP address of each contributor with every post, as long as the post remains accessible. This IP address is stored for two main purposes:
To assist in forum moderation, allowing moderators to detect users with multiple accounts who may disrupt forum harmony or attempt to bypass rules or a ban.
To provide this information to judicial authorities upon request to help identify a user.
More generally, your computer’s connections to our servers are logged for 10 days for statistical purposes and to detect any attempt to harm our servers. This forum uses cookies to store your login credentials on your computer for navigation and moderation purposes. Hardware Master will never sell its email database to third parties.
Moderation
Posts may be moderated if they do not comply with this charter. The forum is post-moderated, meaning posts appear immediately after submission and may be moderated afterward if necessary. Moderators are responsible for enforcing the rules of this charter, which aim to ensure compliance with the law and respectful interactions. They help maintain order and ensure the proper flow of discussions. The forum staff makes every reasonable effort to ensure compliance with legal standards and individual rights. However, if you find a problematic message, you can notify a moderator using the "report" link (if available) or via private message. If you are unsure whether your message complies with the charter, feel free to ask a moderator before posting.
Sanctions
A message that violates the charter may be edited — either partially or entirely. Additionally, the user may be temporarily banned from the forum. During a simple ban, the user can still read but not post. During a full ban, access to the forum is entirely blocked. Any attempt to register again while banned may result in a permanent ban.
